Changpeng Zhao: Bitcoin's era of four-year cycles is over

Changpeng Zhao, co-founder of Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange by trading volume, stated that Bitcoin's traditional four-year cycle is no longer relevant.
The influx of funds into spot Bitcoin ETFs could lead the market to a prolonged period of growth without deep corrections, the entrepreneur explained on the Galaxy Brains podcast. According to the businessman, the traditional model, in which the cycle is clearly divided into growth, then a collapse of tens of percent, then a prolonged period of stagnation, is gradually losing relevance.
Zhao is optimistic about the long-term prospects of the first cryptocurrency: the continued expansion of the money supply by central banks in developed countries is fueling interest in assets with a limited supply, and Bitcoin's scarce nature strengthens its position as a store of value.
The owner of Binance is convinced that even a hypothetical transfer of Bitcoin from the wallets of Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of the first cryptocurrency, would not significantly impact the crypto market. Around 1.1 million BTC remain untouched there, but the liquidity of the cryptocurrency industry and the participation of corporate investors have grown significantly in recent years, the entrepreneur argued.
According to him, cryptocurrencies could become a fast, low-cost tool in the financial system of the future, when, thanks to the development of artificial intelligence, autonomous AI agents will be able to form their own digital economy, where settlements between programs will occur without human intervention.
Changpeng Zhao previously advocated for the transition of stock markets to blockchain and the issuance of their own stablecoins pegged to fiat currencies by governments.
